The Minister of State in the President’s Office, Public Service Management and Good Governance Angela Kairuki made the remarks here at the opening of the General Assembly of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Parents’ Wing.
She said that the responsibility of raising children is of the parents themselves and not teachers’ as many parents think. Speaking on behalf of the minister, Same District Commissioner (DC), Ms Rose-Mery Senyamule, said there was a big challenge, especially in education.
She said many children were absent at schools, lacked discipline, while others got unplanned pregnancy. Expounding on that, she said it was the responsibility of every parent to supervise their children in terms of education and how they raised them.
